Sesquiterpenes and Styryl-Lactones from Goniothalamus Ridley I (Annonaceae)

The styryl-lactone isoaltholactone (1), styrylpyrones (+)-goiothalamin (2) and (+) goniothalamin epoxide (3) together with ten sesquiterpenes were found to be present in the stem bark extracts of the Malaysian Goniothalamus ridleyi. The structures of these compounds were established by spectral data. This species has not been chemically investigated before and In this paper we report the isolation of these compounds from the stem bark extract
