Water and Sediment samples of Gomati river were analysed for a period of 12 months for quantitative estimation of Fe, Cu, Zn, Mn, Ni and Pb. Ni and Pb were not detected in sediment while Fe, Zn, Mn were found higher in sediments. All the metal values were found greater in down stream river water and sediment and also in summer season due to slow-flow and less dilution.
