Mixed ligand complexes of some group IA metal salts of organic acid have been prepared. On the basis of structural investigation of these complexes; a tetrahedral geometry around the alkali, metals ion have been proposed. The second ligand (Picolinic acid) co-ordinate to the alkali metal salta through pyridine-N-atom and Carboxylic oxygen atom. Presence of hydrogen bonding in these mixed ligand complexes, is a feature that undoubtdly enhance the stability of the complexes.
KEYWORDS:Carboxylic; oxygen; ligand co-ordinate
