Studies on 4-OXO-Thiazolidines : Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of 2-(3,4,5-Trimethoxy Phenyl)-3-Substituted Phenyl/ 2-Pyridyl/Benzyl-4-OXO-Thiazolidines

Several new 2-(3,4,5-trimethoxy phenyl)-3-substituted phenyl/2-pyridyl/benzyl-4-oxo-thiazolidines were prepared by cyclocondensation of schiff base and mercapto acetic acid. The synthesised compounds were tested against S. aureus, E. coli and S. typhosa B. The compounds were characterised on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral studies.
