Novel Poly -N- [p/m - (Carbonyl Amino Acetyl)] Hydrazino Phosphites as Potential Polyhdrazides for Desalination Membranes

The title polyhydrazides containing hydrophilic and hydrophobic linkages have been synthesised by suspension polycondensation on N-[p/m-(carbonyl phenyl amino)] acetyl chlorides with phosphonic dihydrazide in dry, N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAC) at -10°C. Oxidative (TG - DTA) inherent viscosity, IR (KBr) and solubility measurements indicated that these polyhydrazides are suitable for desalination membrance processing through solution casting technique.a
