The presence of methoxy and sulfonamide groups In different types of compounds have been found to exhibit antimicrobial activities. Very little work has been done for evaluating the activitie of schiff bases as pesticidal agents, therefore, keeping this in view 25 new schiff bases bearing methoxy and sulfonamide groups have been synthesised by the reaction of 5-0, m and p-methoxy phenyl azo salicylaldehyde with sulfa drugs and aromatic amines. All the compound were screened for pecticidal activities against various pests. Some of the compounds have shown very high herbicidal activity on mini screen testing.
