Mixed Complexes of Alkali Metal Salts of Organic Acids with 2,5-Dihydroxybenzoquinone

A number of mixed ligand complexes of alkali metal salts of some organic acids viz. o-nitrobenzoic acid, o-aminobenzoic acid, salicylic acid, o-nitrophenol, 1-nitroso-2-naphthol, ssalicylaldehdyde and 8-hydroxyquinoline with 2,5-dihydroxybenzoquinone, one of the important constituent of plants1 having the general formula (ML)2.H2L where, M-Li, Na or K; L - deprotoneted organic acids have been synthesised and characterized. Characterization of these complexes are based on analytical data and Ir-absorption data.
