When two or more elements of different electronegativity combine chemically, they become adjusted to an Intermediate electronegativity value. The same happens with the Fermi energy also, when elements combine to form a compound. In view of tils consideration author's formula for calculating electronegativity with the help of Fermi energy has been used here to calculate electronegativity of compounds.
