Tin (II) derivatives of variedly substituted monobasic/dibasic triazene-1 -oxides (TH and TH2 ) are reported. The complexes isolated and characterised conform to the stoichiometries (SnT ) in case monobasic triazene-1 -oxides and (SnT2) in case of dibasic triazene-1-oxides, Sp3d hybridization In case of (SnT ) and Sp3 hybridization in case of (SnT2) complexes have been invoked .The sterochemistries are ψ tbp and ψ tetrahedral. Neutral non-ionic and monomertc complexes of tin(ll) has led to such assignment of the stereochemistries. ψ-tetrahedral stereochemistry of tin( II) it more common on the basis the available orbitals for bonding ψ tbp stereochemistry, is believed to be due to the stereochemical demands of the bidentate (TH) ligands. The complexes have been characterized by (i) elemental analyses, (ii) conductance measurements in nitromethane. (iii) molecular weight determinations in freezing benzene and (iv) infra-red spectra in the range 200-4000cm-1 in Cst discs.
