The objective of author's research was preparation of poly [4-Vinyl N-(N'-phenyl) benzene sulfonamide], that can be used as catalyst for bromination of aromatic rings. For example benzene, toluene, isopropyl benzene and bromobenzene. Poly [4-Vinyl. N-(N-phenyl) benzene sulfonamide] can be make from radical polymerization of 4-Vinyl, N-(N'-phenyl) benzene sulfonamide with use of azobisisobutyronitrite as an initiator. 4-Vinyl, N-(N'-phenyl) benzene sulfonamide was prepared from commercial 4-vinyl benzene sulfonic acid sodium salt PCIS end Phenylhydrazine. Poly [4-Vinyl.N-(N'-phenyl) benzene sulfonamide] synthesized can be used In equimoiar amounts as a polymeric catalyst, and catalyse a wide range of bromination reactions. Then brominated product is separated and the polymer is recovered. Now. recovered polymer can be used in another processes for bromination of other aromatic rings. An advantage of this polymer is that the bromination of aromatic rings take place without brominating the alkyt substitution on aromatic ring. Also In compare with catalysts which so far is applied for bromination of aromatic compounds, this polymer as catalyst have many advantages. For example high recovery, reuse ability, selectivity and stability In exposed to moisture and air are important advantages of this polymer.
