Many Schiff base metal complexes have been investigated in various laboratories because of their wide applicability1-3. Literature survey reveals that Schiff base complexes of Cu(ll) requires attention for systematic work on the structural diagnosis and establishing their anti-bacterial activity. The derivatives of Schiff bases and their Cu(ll) complexes can be used as bio-active materials after due suitable structural modifications. With this aim, the present work was undertaken to study the complexes of life essential Cu ions with bio-active ligands. The work emphasizes mainly on a systematic structural diagnosis of Cu(ll) complexes derived from Schiff bases and their biological significance.
