The influence of. the extent of aromaticity on the metal ligand π - Interactions, was investigated potentiometrically by evaluating the formation constants of ternary metal complexes MLA, where, M = Co(ll), Ni(ll), Cu(ll), and Zn(ll); A = 2 (2' - Pyridyl) benzimidazole; L = Maltol, Kojic acid or Acetyl acetone at 30°C and I=0.1 M KN03 in 30% methanol - aqueous medium. These formation constants are compared with the formation constants of ternary complexes MLA where M = Co(lI), Ni(ll). Cu(ll). and Zn(ll); A = Bipyridyi or 1,10 - Phenanthroline; L = Maltol, Kojic acid or Acetyl acetone.
