Methylenedioxy Flavone from Cassia Siamea

A methylenedioxy flavone have been isolated from the flowers Cassia siamea and was identified as 5,7-dihydroxy 3',4' methylenedioxy flavone. Its occurrence in the species reflects the chemotaxonomic significance in both the taxa i.e. Cassia siamea and Cassia marginata.
