Eighteen monoazo disperse dyes were prepared by coupling diazotized 1 -(4 -aminophenyl)-2-phenyl-4-arylidene-5-imidazolone with N-substituted and N,N-disubstituted derivatives of anilines and their dyeing performance on nylon and polyester fibres have been examined. The dyes show moderate % exhaustion, fair to good light fastness and very good to excellent wash, rubbing, perspiration and sublimation fastness.
