The hydrolysis of diethyl-p-nitrophenyl phosphate (Paraoxon) has been studied using isomeric hydroxyiminomethyi pyndmium type surfactants. Micellar 1-n-dodecyl-2-(hydroxyiminomethyl) pyridinium salt was found to be more effective nucleophilic reagent and 38 fold of rate enhancement was observed than its corresponding 3-isomer. The influence of comiceilizing surfactant on the reactivity of 1-n-alkyl isomeric (hydroxyiminomethyl)-Pyndimum bromides, micellar oximes are reported.
