ABSTRACT:

This paper reports the conductance behaviour of N-Bromosuccinimide in water and various (V/V) of water acetonitrile at 283K, 293K, 303K and 313K. Specific conductance data obtained were analysed by Debye -Huckel-Onsager and Shedlovsky model of conductivity. Molar conductance at infinite dilution and dissociation/association constants were calculated from the respective method at different temperature and composition. Temperature independent dissociation constant (true dissociation constant) was aieo calculated. Fuoss equilibrium and Fuoss-Accascina equations related to triple ion formation were used for identifying the magnitude of the formation of lon-association/complexation of the N- Bromosucommideti water and water-ace tonitrile mixtures. Hence obtained dissociation constants and mass, law utilised for comparing them with the true/apparent dissociation constants, Wakien product the viscosity of the solvent and limiting conductance was used to com puts Stroke's molecular radius. Finally, thermodynamic parameters were calculated to analyse the ion solvent interaction involved in the system.
