The present study deals with the solvent effect on the electronic spectra of 5-Carbethoxy-2- thiouracil i.e., the effect of polar solvents as ethanol, methanol and water has been studied on the electronic transitions of the said molecule. Also the effect of the variation of pH of above solvents on these electronic transitions for the same molecule has been studied.
