Twelve new pyrazoles have been synthesized by reacting 2,4-diketo -3- (phenyl azo)- pentane, 2,4 -diketo -3- (M-methyl phenylazo) pentane with six acid hydrazides. Synthesis of nine pyrazolone azo dyes has been accompalished by reacting of ethyl -1-(o - carboxyphenylazo) acetoacetate with Nine acid hydrazides. The products have been investigated for their anti-cancer and anti-HIV activities.
