Diazotised 2-amino-4 -methyl benzothiazole was coupled with N, N-disubstituted derivatives of anilines to give monoazo disperse dyes. The dyes when applied on polyester give yellow to violet shades with moderate to good light fastness. The and very good to excellent, wash and rubbing fastness. The dyes were further confirmed by means of elemental analysis. IR and PMR spectra.
