2-Phenyl-3-(4"-amino-4-benzanilid-1'-yl)4'-oxcquinazoline used as adiazo component, was itself prepared by the condensation of 2-phenyl-4-oxo-3,1 -benzoxazine with diamine benzanilide. Some new azo dyes were prepared by coupling of diazotised 2-phenyl -3-(4"-amino-4'benzanilide-1 -yl)-4-oxoquinazoline with various coupling components. The synthetic compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and spectral analysis. The dyeing properties on various textile fabrics were investigated.
