The metal (II) ions forms pale yellow coloured complexes with 4-(salicylidene) hydrazinobenzofuro [3,2-d] pyrimidine in the pH range 1.0- 6.0 in aqueous solution at an ionic strength 0.1 MNaCIO4 and at 30±1 °C. The complexes formed are of the type ML (1:1) molar ratio where [ M = Ni, Mg, Zn, Cu, Co and Hg] and L is ligand. The stability of these complexes has been characterized by logβ values and they follow the order Cu > Ni > Co > Hg > Zn > Mg.
