Terminalia Arjuna : its Present Status (A REVIEW)

Terminalia arjuna. a member of the family combretaceae (commonly known as "Arjuna") is a well known mecdicinal plant and is found throughout the greater part ofindia. Its various aspects have been studied by different workers and it is under study since long. Keeping in view its importance it was considered in this fitness of things to review the work so far done on this Indian tree, particularly the work pertaining to pharmacog nostical properties, medicinal uses and biological studies. Chemical constituents of the different parts of this tree, chemical and spectral studies of triterpene glycosides of T. arjuna with special reference to UV. IR, Mass Spectra and NMR studies. Lastly the literature survey has also been taken up in the end.
