Schiff bases exhibit anticancer and antitubercular activities. Anticancer schiff bases have been synthesised by condensation of aniline with substituted benzaldehyde. In present communication we report the synthesis of substituted (∝-aryl imino) ethyl benzene. Substituted acetophenone were allowed to condense with substituted aniline in ethanol in presence of 2, 3 drops of concentrated H2SO4. These compounds were tested against the organism Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, Proteous vulgaris,Xanthomonas spp, Fusarium solanii and Botryties cinerea.
