2-Hydroxy-3-bromo-5-chloro acetophenone(l) condenses with substituted benzaldehyde in DMF in presence of pulvarised KOH gives chalcone (lla-b). Chalcone (lla-b) reacts with hydrazine hydrate in ethanol gives pyrazoline (llla-b). Pyrazoline (llla-b) reacts with acetic acid gives 1-acetylpyrazoline (I Va-b). Pyrazoline (IIIa-b) reacts with benzoylchloride in pyridine medium gives 1-benzoyl pyrazoline (V a-b). The structure were established on tie basis of spectral data UV, IR and PMR. Antimicrobial activities of these compounds were assayed against test organism Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, Proteous vulgaris, Xanthomonas sppt Fusarium solznii and Botryties cinerea.
