E P R spectra of Cu2+ doped bisglycine strontium chloride trihydrate single crystals which represents one of the few examples of nine coordinated systems, are recorded at room temperature at X-band frequencies. The analysis of the spectra show that Cu2+ ion enters the lattice sbstitutionalu in the place of Sr2+ ion. The spin-Hamiltonian parameters obtained from the measurements are used to calculate the bonding parameters and it is found that the ground state wave function of Cu2+ ion is an admixture I3z2 - r2 > and lx2 - y2 > orbitals.
