Stability constants of 1:1 binary and 1:1:1 ternary complexes of phenobarbituric acid with Co(ll), Ni(il) and Cu(ll) in presence of glycine, a-alanine, β -alanine and proline have been determined pH metrically in aqueous medium at 30°C and ionic strength 0.1 M( NaCIO4). The order of stabilities with respect to metal ion is found to be: Co(ll) < Ni(il) < Cu(U). The stabilities of binary and ternary complexes are compared.
