The present paper is the study of excitation and emission spectra of Thallium doped Sodium Chloride phosphores in untreated and preheattreated conditions. The data for solid NaCl: TI phosphores is compared with that for saturated NaCI solution containing varying amounts of TICI. The visible emission in solid NaCI: TI phosphor is attributed to the complex ion centres. It is proposed that in NaCI: TI system negatively charged complex ions of the type (TICIn) act as luminescence centres, besides some other lumnescence centres.
