The electronic spectra of 4,6 dihydroxy -5 amino pyrimidine in polar solvents and its infrared spectrum have been reported Assignments of various fundamental frequencies are proposed by assuming the molecule under C2V synmetry group. The effect on the electronic spectra has also been discussed.
