A few complexes of Ni(ll) and Cu(ll) have been prepared by reacting metal (II) chlorides and 3-Aminomethyl-4-amino-5-mercaptc-1,2,4-triazole Schiff bases in alcohol medium. The elemental analyses indicate that these complexes have 1:1 stoichiometry of the type M.L The IR spectra of the ligands and complexes suggest that O-hydroxy group and azomethine groups are involved in bonding through oxygen and nitrogen respectively. The electronic spectral and magnetic data indicate that these complexes have a square-planar configuration.
