A series of carbamates derived from pyridine aldoximes and thiohydroximic thioesters have been prepared by their reaction with isocyanates. The quaternised salts of pyridine aldoxime carbamates have also been synthesised. The compounds synthesised were evaluated for their efficacy as acetylcholinesterase inhibitors. Most of these were found to be good inhibitors, their 150 values ranged between 10-6 - 10-9 M.
