A simple and sensitive method has been developed for the spectrophotometric determination of aromatic amines with iron (III) chloride and potassium hexacyanoferrate (III). Beer's law is applicable from 2-20 μg. The relative standard deviation and molar absorptivity are 0.4-0.7% and 4.2-5.4x1041 mol-1 cm-1 respectively. The method Is applicable for the determination of aromatic amines in presence of aliphatic amines.
