Two new flavonoids - a dihydroflavnoid and a flavonone along with two known compounds have been isolated from the flowers of Amaranthus Caudatus and have been Characterised as 3,5,7 - tr ihydroxy, 6-methyl, 4'-methoxy dihydroflavonol (A2); 5,7 - dihydroxy, 8 - methyl, 4'-methoxy flavanone (A3); 5,7-dihydroxy, 8-methyl, 4*-methoxy isoflavone (A1) and Kaempferide (A4) on the basis of colour reactions, degradation studies and spectral analysis (U.V.IR, PMR and Mass).
