Correlation of the Spectral Properties and Catalytic Activity of Some Aluminium Oxide Supported Nickel Oxide Catalysts in the Nitroxidation of Toluene and 3-Picoline.

Infra-red spectra of some aluminum oxide supported nickel oxide catalysts have been recorded in tit region 4000-400 cm-1 along with laser Raman spectra in the region 4000-50 cm-1 and EPR spectra in the region 737-5737 gauss. Catalytic activity of catalyst has been examined for the Nitroxidation of 3-picoline and toluene The spectra have been analysed with a view to characteise the catalyst. The catalytic activity of the catalyst has been explained on the basis of their spectral behaviour.
