ABSTRACT:

Leprosy is a communicable disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae, a ribosomal antigens having specific glycolipid & constitutes a serious public health problem. It is transmitted disease from patient's suffering from leprosy. There is basic demand to increase the reactivity of the antileprotic drugs by chemical methods. Dapsone (I) derivatives are more potential. Soluble glucose bisulfite derivatives of dapsone (II) is 10 times as active as sulfadiazene (III) absorbance of drug increases its activity. 4,4'-diaminodiphenyI sulphone has become the basic drug for the treatment of leprosy. Acetyl migration in RIFAMPICIN is more potential. Clofazimine (Lamprene), Servidapsone (Depsone) used in leprosy & rifampicin used in both the tuberculosis & leprosy control. Rifampicin should be avoided in first timester pregnancy (woman) due to assumption of its teratogenic effect.
