Indigenous Medicinal Plants and Important Synthetic Drugs uses in Diarrhoea (A Review)

Viral diarrhoea caused by Rota, Parva & ecboviruses. Bacterial diarrhoea caused by E.Coli, Klebsiella, Clostridium perifringus & salmonella etc. Medicinal plants (of different families) & some plants in folk - medicines in Madhya Pradesh (India) are used in diarrhoea Phytochemical investigation & isolation of active principles Rugasanine - A, emitine, cephaeline, gramicidin (alkalaids, phenols & heterocyclic compds) may be possible by chromatographic techniques and structural elucidation by spectroscopic techniques. Main synthetic drugs uses in diarrhoea are fluorinated quinoline (Zanocin), oxyteracycline, Sulphonamide, oframax, standrox, Geryl. Cap-lmosec, Tab-Flagyl, Metrogyl etc. mainly constitute by Metronidazole & Nalidixic Acid.
