Some pseudohalide and isopseudohalide derivatives of WS2Cl2 and WS2Cl2.2py have been prepared using potassium and silver pseudohalides. The pseudohalide-derivatiues of WS2Cl2 also form adduct with pyridine just like the WS2Cl2. The compounds have been characterized by their elemental analysis, IR spectra and other physical measurements. It has been suggested that the reaction with potassium pseudohalides proceed by a SN2 mechanism while the reaction with silver pseudo halides follows SN1 mechanism.
