Several new hexacoordinated mixed ligand cyano nitrosyl complexes of chromium (I), [Cr NO (CN)2 (L)2 (H2O)] (L=2-3.or 4-ethylaniline. 2. 6-diethylaniline. 2. 4-, 2, 6-. 3, 4- or 3, 5* dimethoxyaniline) have been synthesized and characterised by elemental analyses, molar conductance molecular weight* magnetic measurement. Infrared and electron spin resonance studies. An octahedral structure has been proposed for the complexes. Chromium (I) has a low-spin d5 configuration in these complexes.
