Indirect Gravimetric Method for the Determination of Formaldehyde

An indirect gravimetric method for the determination of formaldehyde based on its reaction with potassium tetracyanonickelate (II). The released nickel which is related to the amount of formaldehyde added is precipitated by dimethylglyoxime and determined gravimetrically.
