The photodecomposition of malonic acid in presence of uranyl nitrate under nitrogen laser irradiation shows that the rate of decomposition increases with increase or irradiation time at 298° and 308° K. The rate constant of decomposition increases with increase of uranyl nitrate concentration and decreases with increase in pH. The energy of activation is found to be of the order of 125 - 130 KJ mole-1.
