The formation constants of 1:1 binary M(ll)-Solochrome black-6B and 1:1:1 ternary M(II)-SBB-A complexes [where M(ll) = Zn(ll), Cd(ll) and Pb(ll); A = ethylenediamine, 2,2'- bipyridyl and 1, 10-phenanthroline] have been investigated pH metrically in 50% (v/v) aq. methanol medium at 30oC and ionic strength 0.1 M (NaClO4). The ligand SBB acts as a secondary ligand in presence of bipy and phen. In case of ethylenediamine SBB acts as a primary ligand.
