The nuclear grade polystyrene resin Is irradiated using 60Co γ rays in various salt forms. The H2SO4 yield increases as a function of absorbed dose by the exchanger. It depends upon the cation which being counter ion of the resin matrix. Sulphate ions are also estimated as BaSO4 in the effluent of exchanger.
