A comparative study of live mixing rules of refraction has been carried out to test their validity for five binary liquid mixtures at 308.15 K at wide range of compositions. Comparison of various rules have been expressed in terms of average percentage deviation. All mixing rules perform well within the limit of experimental error but performance of Wieners (W) and Argo Biot(A~B) relation are comparatively better than those of others.
