Complexes of Co (II), Ni (II) and Hg (II) with bis- (4-Hydroxy-3-methoxy benzylidene)-2 -or 3-aminopyridine (HMB-2 AP and HMB-3 AP) have been synthesised.Co(ll) and Ni (II) form complexes of the type ML2X2 where (M=Co(ll). Ni(ll); L=HMB-2AP or HMB-3-AP; X=CI, Br, I N03 or ClO4 and Hg (II) form complexes of the type [ML2]X2.Their structural features have been investigated on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductivity, electronic. 1HNMR and infrared spectral data. The 1HNMR and IR spectra of complexes reveal bidentate nature of both the ligands.
KEYWORDS:elemental analysis; molar conductivity; spectra of complexes
