Some new azo disperse dyes 2-(2,-nitrophenyl)-3-(4'-phenyl-5,-phenylazo thiazole-2-yl)-5-(arylidene)-4-thiazolidinone derivatives were synthesised. Their dyeing performance on polyester fibre and their antimicrobial activities were assessed. These derivatives were characterised by elemental analysis, I.R., NMR spectra. The fastness properties of these dyes were evaluated by applying them to polyester fibre. The antimicrobial activities were evaluated against E.coli S. aureus, S.paratyphi B. and P vulgaris, bacteria.
