Debromination of Chalcone Dibromide With Sodium Hydrogen Sulphide

Chalcone dibromide was treated with freshly prepared sodium hydrogen sulphide in dry methanol. The mixture was heated for 10 min to 1 hr., cooled, diluted with water and crystallised from rectified spirit affords corresponding chalcone. These chalcone dibromide and chalcone were tested against test organism for microbial activity
