The Inhibition of urease catalysed hydrolysis of urea by phenol, o-,m-, p-Nitrophenol, 2,4-Dinitrophenol and 2,4,6-Trinitrophenol has been carried out on the basis of kinetic measurement of urea hydrolysis. The concentration of urea was varied in the range 1.3 x 103 M............. 3.33 x 10-3 M and that of inhibitors was maintained 2.7 x 10-3 M. The apparent Michaelis constants K and dissociation constants of enzyme-inhibitor complex, were determined at pH 6.70 and temperature 37°C. All the compound shows competitive type of inhibition.
