ABSTRACT:

The interaction of Cu(ll), with-(2-hydroxyy-3-iodc-5-methyfphenyl) 1 -phenyl-5(4-methoxy phenyl) Pyrazoline and 3-(2-hydroxy-3-iodo-5-methyl phenyl) 5-(4-methoxy phenyl isoxazoline has been studied at 0.02 M, 0.04M, 0.06 M, 0.08M, and 0.1 M ionic strength. It is observed that copper ion forms 1:1 and 1:2 complexes with both the liganda. Proton ligand and metal ligand stability constants have been determined by Bjerrum method as adopted by calvinand Wilson. The data of Pk and log K values obtained from this technique were used to (1) calculate the thermodynamic dissocation constants at zero Ionic strength and (ii) know the exact nature of reaction complex equilibria.
