Complexation Oftetraaza Macrocyclic Ligands With Sn2+ And Sb3+ Ions

Some novel chtoro oomplexM of tin and antimony containing macrocytic ligands, 5,7,7,12,14,l4-hexamethyl-1,4, 8,11-tetraazoclodeca-4,11-diene dihyotobromide dihydrate (trans [14] diene), 1,4,8,11 -tetraazacycloterracdecane ([14 ane N4 )and 1,4,8,12-tetraazacycloterracdecane ([15] ane N4)have been synthesized and characterised. Various physico-chemical techniques were employed to study their bondings and structures. The complexes isolated have the compositions, [SnLCl2 and [SbLCl2]CI (L=trans (14] dtene. {14) ane N4 ] and [15] ana N4. ] The study reveals that all of the complexes are octahedral where four coordination positions are occupied by four tetraazo-nitrogen atoms and tie two axial positions are occupied by two chloro-ligands.
