Mosaic structures have been observed in phenol-bromate-H2S04 oscillatory reaction system. Such structure are obtained in the temperature limit in which oscillatory reactions occur. This mosaic structures is related to periodic precipitation of tribromophenol and p-benzoquinone which forms a sotid solution over entire oscillatory temperature range. The agglomeration of fine grains of solid solution was established on the basis of microphotographs, and scanning electron microscope photograph.
KEYWORDS:phenol-bromate-H2S04; Tribromophenol;p-benzoquinone
