Synthesis of new N-tosyl and N-phthalyl aminoacyl, N-tosyl and N-phthalyl dipeptidyl derivatives of 6-amino-2-methyl-3(m-tolyl)-4(3H) quinazolinone has been described. Some of the synthesized derivatives have been found to possess high antimicrobial activities against a number of microorganisms as well as centrally acting muscle relaxant and central nervous system depressent.
KEYWORDS:Tosyl amino acids; Phthalyl amino acids; CNS depressent; antibacterial activity
